By far the largest source of Grant funding originates from
the Federal Government of the United States with over $300,000,000
dispersed to individuals and businesses yearly. Unlike loans,
Grants never need to be repaid. More than 1,000 grant programs are
offered by the 26 federal grant-making agencies, and these
programs fall into 21 categories:
